I'm In No Mood to Blog...My Team LOST, gosh-darn-it!

Alright, I'm a heee-yuge Denver Broncos fan, so, naturally, I sat down to watch today's game in hi-def; you know, spend some quality time with my dad, yelling at the television. My mother had the common sense to remind us that they can't hear us, we know that, right? My dad says that they can hear us, since it's hi-definition, which toootally makes sense to me. Any-who, it was a bad game overall, but there were some okay points I suppose. Whatever, better next week against the Colts.

I Pray My Eyes Deceive Me!

Normally, I am simply enthralled by the sight of the latest TV Guide (just see my prior posts!), and, at first, today was no different. I was especially excited to see a little picture of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens (Troy and Gabriella from High School Musical) on the cover. My heart raced as I saw they were featured in an article regarding the making of an HSM movie to be released in theaters next fall. I turned the pages but I gasped when my eyes found the title of the article: "Why Zac and Vanessa May Skip the Next Movie".

OOOOOOHHHHH MY STARS, FOR THE LOVE OF LIZA!!!!

I love HSM with almost every fiber of my being (okay, slight exaggeration), and I would love nothing more than to wait in line to see the feature film at it's first midnight showing. But people, how can it be High School Musical without the two main characters?? Consider this my official potential protest. If there aren't Troy and Gabriella, mark my words, I. Will. Not. See. That. Movie.

And that, my fellow bloggers, is all I have to say about that.

Unconscious Mutterings: Meme

I got this meme from LunaNina, and I thought it might be fun. And I'm bored, and needed something to do. It's just simple word association, so, go ahead, give it a try!
  1. Scrabble :: Word chains

  2. NyQuil :: Drowsy

  3. Roadtrip :: Squished in the back seat

  4. Idiot :: Patrick and Spongebob

  5. Bandages :: Skateboarding

  6. Series :: LOST

  7. Summer :: the Beach

  8. Prompt :: Writing

  9. September :: Apples, Fall

  10. Chicken :: Soup, KFC
I think number nine is a sure sign that working at a pick-your-own fruit farm has truly affected me psychologically. I have found that I've started to base what time of year it is on what fruit or vegetable I know to be in season. But we'll save my psycho-fruit problems for another post.

New Template, New Post!

I changed the template, only because the polka-dots were bothering me. ((Plus, it delays the pending doom of homework.))

Today, I taught Sunday school with my friend Jennie, and it went pretty well. Our church meets at a school, so there was the ability to bribe the children with a trek outside to the playground, which was for everyone's enjoyment, believe me!

I had looked over my lesson on the computer, planned what I was going to do, and responsibly printed it out, so I was totally prepared. Except for the part when I forgot the printed-out lesson at home. I mean, don't get me wrong, I knew what I was supposed to teach, but I need the guidelines in front of me, people! Luckily, I had my handy-dandy iPhone, which, conveniently, had the email with the lesson, and the ability to view Word documents. I was saved by Apple yet again.

The kids enjoyed the lesson (as much as can be expected from a group of 5 and 6 year olds), and our Bible verse was:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1
We played with Play-doh, made Dot Art, and little Bibles with our Bible verses on them, had snack, and went outside. I think we had more fun than the kids did. You should have heard me squeal when I saw the supply box.

After, when we were waiting for the kids to be picked up, I tried to keep them entertained, and, one by one, they went off with their parents, but not before each of them stopped to give me a biiiiiiig "Thanks, Teacher" hug.

I think that's why I love teaching Sunday school. That, and the neon-colored Play-doh. And the Cheezits-and-little-cups-of-water Snack doesn't hurt, either.

After a Long Day's Work...

...on Friday, under a heat advisory, I was in no mood to do anything but dive into the heavenly abyss that is my bed. I made my way into the house, and laying on the table right in front of me, just beckoning, pleading, for me to stray from my evening plans, was the latest TV Guide. As if the mere prospect of knowing what hours of television were in store for the next week wasn't enough, I took a gander at the cover, and guess who I saw?

That's right, you guessed it! (Okay, you probably didn't, but we'll give you the benefit of the doubt, alright?)

Anyway, on the cover, staring straight into my slowly closing eyes, was the cast of "High School Musical". I had the sudden urge to rip open the magazine and head for the exclusive article on HSM2. I fought it. I needed to run upstairs and get my nap on. I was stronger than the TV Guide. I could do it.

But then, I saw it.

Not only was this a High School Musical themed magazine, there was a disk on the cover. One closer look told me all I needed to know. This was no ordinary disk. No way. This was a CD with photos of the cast, clips from the movie, and, most importantly, instructions for me and my friends to dance along with our High School Musical pals on August 17th. Yeah, I forgot all about my desire for sleep. I had forgotten everything prior to this moment, because, after I learned those wicked awesome dance moves, my life would be complete.

I had the disk in my hands, but as I headed for the computer, I heard a voice. A voice calling, telling me something. I listened harder, and heard it tell me to....clean my room?? Oh, dear mother, you have no idea the agony you caused me, as I slipped the disk back into its protective pouch, saving the wicked awesome dance moves for another time in the near future. Then, and only then, will I be able to know true HSM-filled happiness.

((FYI: Creative license was used in this post...i.e. the tv guide was sitting on the seat of the car when my mom picked me up, she asked me to something, but maybe not clean my room, etc. But I like my version better. Way better.))

Stuck on School Supplies

Okay, so I might not be ready for school to start quite yet, but if there's one thing that gets me revved up for the new school year, it's organizational supplies. I went shopping, and I must say, I came home with some nice folders and such. First, I have to say that I don't use the traditional binders, as I prefer to use a file folder. So, that brings us to my first purchase:

I liked the file folder, because it's simple, and still pretty. I loved that the inside was pink, and I made pretty pink and blue labels for the dividers. After we found the file folder, I naturally flocked to the pocket folders, eventually deciding on the Dora the Explorer, Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean folders.

I also got Harry Potter pens, which just shows how awesome this school year is going to be.

What Time is it?

Ah, the first words to the first song uttered in the most anticipated Disney movie of all time.

"HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2"!

It's been a year and a half since HSM, and all of us fans have been eagerly awaiting the fateful day of August 17th. It's only a matter of time before we all start humming some of the catchiest songs of the summer. I, for one, am just as excited for the showing of HSM 1, the singalong version! I might be a nerd, but at least my friends are right there with me (we're having a HSM 2 party for the premiere).

So, until then, I'll just have to listen to my HSM Soudtrack, and drive my mother crazy with songs about bopping to the top, getting my head in the game, and knowing that we're all in this together. And never once being the least bit cliche.
